Rock Paper Scissors Silkscreen Classes

Hosted at the Patchwerk Press Print Shop

Classes are being renovated and will return soon in February!

Class Descriptions

Beginning Silkscreening
This class is designed to give students an introduction to silkscreening basics.
Class will include an introduction to the equipment, different types of inks, screens and applications. Teacher will demo preparing a screen for transfer, transfer of image, printing and reclaiming of screens.
Each student will have a chance to use the presses and print images. This class will not facilitate the printing of students own imagery - we will be practicing with RPS images, producing RPS fundraising merchandise.
Students are encouraged to wear clothes that can get messy.

Continuing Silkscreening
Student should bring:
   1. Screen - manageable size - roughly 11x17 - can be purchased at Patchwerk Press for $20 or Pearl,Blick, Artist & Craftsman or any number of art stores.
   2. Transparency with opaque (no light coming through) image of your choice. You can get a transparency made by taking your black and white image to a copy shop and asking them to put it on a transparency.
This class will assist students with transferring their own images on to a screen and printing it on to paper or fabric. Students will have access to emulsion, ink and equipment. Again, please wear your dirty clothes.
