patchwerk press print collective

Membership Information

Hooray! We are accepting new member applications at this time! If you are interested in joining the patchwerk press printing collective please read on.

New collective members should have printing experience, a specific purpose for using the shop in mind,  and a willingness to work collectively. Consideration of potential collective members goes as follows:
1) Fill out an application (see link below to download Word document)
2) All collective members review the application (only if we are seeking new members, which we currently are)
3) Applicants that seem to be a good fit with the collective are invited to 30 minutes of a collective meeting to meet the members and determine compatibility
4) If accepted we expect you to pay a deposit and a month's rent before the beginning of the month you expect to begin membership
5) All members are required to contribute  6 hours/month of service to the shop and to attend monthly meetings
6) There is a three month review period which will be used to determine if the new member is indeed a good fit. Within those three months, the collective reserves the right to dismiss a member in a review period with appropriate reason.

Being a collective member gives you  24 hour access to the shop and inside a private gated building. We have one parking spot for the shop and we are a short bike ride from the West Oakland BART station. Members are guaranteed 6 hours minimum per week to use the space and more if available. This includes use of studio, all equipment, four pallet and two color printing trees, hundreds of textile inks, exposure unit, dryers, and supplies. You also have access to other members who have a wealth of knowledge about printing, running a business, organizing community events and so much more!

Interested in becoming a member fill out the application and send it our way!
