Patchwerk Press Open Lab
We have a new Lab Attendant, Maura, who will be offering more regular lab hours in the coming months!
Patchwerk Press offers open lab hours to experienced screen printers who are familiar with our studio and who have taken printing classes offered by Rock Paper Scissors Collective. See the RPSC calendar for the schedule of classes offered. You must demonstrate your proficiency and knowledge of the Patchwerk Press shop with a brief test in order to be able to use lab time. If you are an experienced screen printer but have never printed at Patchwerk you still need to complete a screen printing class to familiarize yourself with our particular space and materials. At the end of class, you may test out and begin utilizing the lab.
Lab time is staffed by an attendant to ensure that the space is used safely. While we are happy to answer questions and share our knowledge as you work independently on your printing project, open lab time is not intended for instruction or teaching basic printing principles. If you require more assistance and guidance or feel like you need a one-on-one introduction or refresher to screen printing, we offer private printing lessons at $40/hr (with a two hour minimum).

If you are unable to attend any of the above Open Labs you can contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Lab Hours Sign-up
Each lab can accommodate two people printing in the studio at a time. Advanced sign-up is required. Labs are $15 an hour (minimum of 2 hours) and can be paid in cash to the attendant staffing the lab at the beginning of the lab. Please bring exact change.
Currently you can request lab time by e-mailing us at patchwerkpress@gmail.com. We will e-mail you back as soon as we can to confirm your request. As mentioned previously, you will only be able to sign up for lab time if you have been tested out to use the lab.
